You may be the only one to follow me on this blog but it's because of you that I'm starting it ;) My life as an ob/gyn can be a little, how shall we say...unpredictable? Chasing this little passion of mine (operating, delivering babies and getting the scoop on a bunch of great gossip in the office) has landed me smack in the middle of "The Happiest Place on Earth." When I loaded the car and drove off to begin my journey from Texas to Florida, I left my mom waving good-bye with a small tear in her eye but a bigger smile on her face. She knew that this small town girl was determined to be a trail blazer. (yes, I graduated at the top of my class of 34 people, was homecoming queen with the stiff competition of about 10 other girls and was "athlete of the year" because quite honestly, I may have been the only one left after the 3 others were injured)
This blog will be another way to share my life with mom from a distance. I have successfully introduced her to the concept of a computer...then set her up with her own email account. Next came a cell phone. Then came the concept of charging the cell phone followed by a gentle reminder to carry the cell phone with her. We have now transitioned from a flip phone to a text friendly phone and 3 months ago the first text from her came through: "hi pam i am now texting i love you ttyl." Was that a text abbreviation? ttyl...awesome.
So here's to my mom and to all the moms and daughters I take care of...enjoy the ride.
